Wilderland has two websites, one always-on, higher resolution website that is heavier to run, and one experimental, situated site, that is solar powered, and in the Nephin Park
The solar site might not always be on or available, it also has other quirks, and will be slower. Adjust your expectactions for this Permacomputing + Small Web alternative.
DATE: 07 OCT 2024
TIME: 7 - 9pm
VENUE: Ballycroy Community Centre,, Ballycroy, Co. Mayo, F28 H6C9
Participants will learn about native wildflowers and their benefits for biodiversity, and how to collect and plant their seeds to create wildflower areas and help increase biodiversity where you live. We'll hear about some of the different uses for native plants and wildflowers in food and folk medicine, and as companion plants in the garden or allotment. And participants will be shown how to make a selection of simple origami seed envelopes so everyone can take home their own selection of wildflower seeds.
Kasia will introduce the Flower Féilire project, a year-long plant collection project to produce a collaborative cyanotype artwork for Mayo's indigenous plant life, and how you and your community can get involved. And we’ll also hear about the Wilderland public art and climate action project, and how communities can join its collaborative art and ecology projects over the next year.
Everyone welcome.
FREE entry, no booking required.
